TeachHub.com is a great site where you can find articles written by teachers for teachers. Below I have attached two insightful articles on differentiation by two qualified teachers.

In the first article, among other tips, the author Janelle Cox refers to the use of Bloom's Taxonomy in order to adjust questions to different difficulty levels. To the right is an image of Bloom's Taxonomy for reference. As you can see, at the lowest level, or the base of the pyramid, the types of questions that are best suited would be "define, duplicate, list, memorize, repeat, state". None of those require any deep thinking on the subject. The lower levels of the pyramid must be attained before a student could successfully produce work at the higher levels. This is just one of the many tips that can be found in the articles on TeachHub.com.
In the second article, written by Marcia Imbeau, the focus is on who, what, and where (Who do you teach? What do you teach? and Where do you teach?). Once the teacher has established the answer to those three key questions, they can then move on the the how (as in How do you teach?). In the how section is where she discusses ways to incorporate differentiated teaching in the classroom. I like that she included the column "learner trait" in order to identify the fact that not all strategies are appropriate in every scenario. Here is an example of how a strategy is outlined in her chart. She has a total of 9 different strategies to chose from.

This article was written by Janelle Cox who earned a Master's of Science in Education from the State University of New York College at Buffalo.
